Not vaccinated: All those who verbally refused, did not start the vaccination process, or were coded by mistake. Does not include those with approved exemptions.


Medical: Medical exemptions are determined individually by the member’s medical provider.


Administrative: Administrative exemptions are determined individually. For example, if a member obtained a commander-approved bid for separation or retirement before November 1, they are administratively exempt.


Religious Accommodation: Religious accommodations are a subset of administrative exemptions and are determined by MAJCOM/FLDCOM commanders. The DAF has 30 working days (active component in CONUS) to process the requests. Appeals are determined by the DAF Chief Medical Officer with input from the Chaplain and Staff Judge Advocate. People do not have to get vaccinated while their application is being decided.
