Nearly half (49%) of respondents have begun preparing their Fulfillment by Amazon (or FBA) business for sale. Meanwhile, 43% have already spoken with an Amazon broker or aggregator since early 2022.
Although the majority (74%) of respondents are optimistic about the long-term viability of selling physical products on Amazon, finding a buyer for their existing brand emerges as the top priority this year.
A whopping 87% of survey respondents would prefer selling to an Amazon aggregator, citing higher perceived valuation (64%) and speed of the process (55%) as key factors, compared to selling through a traditional shopping broker.
“The last 18 months have been extremely difficult for Amazon’s third-party sellers, due to issues with supply chains and COVID,” said Richard Turnbull, co-founder of ecommerceaggregators.com. “As we enter a period of rapid consolidation in the Amazon FBA space, our research shows that top-earning sellers are more motivated than ever to cash out.”
“Amazon’s aggregators offer sellers the ability to exit their business quickly, often in less than 60 days. If your revenue and margins fit the profile, we’ve seen incredible multiples paid out by aggregators year-to-date. »
About Amazon Aggregators
Amazon aggregators are companies that acquire and consolidate third-party brands sold on Amazon. Their goal is to refine operations, scale and integrate each brand into their wider organization. The number of aggregators is growing rapidly, with over 150 worldwide.
Founded in late 2021 by two of the largest third-party sellers in Amazon’s global marketplace, and following the sale of their own Amazon FBA businesses.
ecommerceaggregators.com contains a comprehensive database of every Amazon aggregator, including their preferred product categories, average multiples paid, funds availability, and number of closed deals.
Using the “Find a Buyer” feature, third-party sellers can quickly identify the few select Amazon aggregators that are most likely to buy from their business, in less than 2 minutes.
