MILWAUKEE, WISC. – The No. 18 Fighting Irish traveled for a game against the Marquette Golden Eagles on Monday. The Irish picked up a dominating 19-10 win.

Madison Ahern led the Irish with six goals, followed by Kasey Choma with four, and hat tricks from Mary Kelly Doherty and Jackie Wolak. Jackie Wolak scored his 100th point with three goals and four assists for a career-high seven points.

Diana Kelly led the team with nine draw checks and recovered her 101st ball on the ground.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN

The first quarter started with Marquette scoring first. The Irish reacted immediately and did not let go. Kasey Choma started the Irish followed by goals from Mary Kelly Doherty, and Choma a second time. The Irish continued their 8-1 run before the quarter ended at 9-2 with an Irish lead.

Maddie Howe opened the second quarter with an Irish goal to extend their lead to 10-2. Notre Dame kept the ball rolling with goals from Choma and Madison Ahern. Wolak converted on a free position shot to push the Irish lead to 14-2 followed by a free position goal from Ahern to enter half-time with a 15-3 lead.

The third quarter saw goals from Ahern and Doherty. The Irish maintained their lead in the fourth quarter with two more goals from Hannah Dorney and Jane McAvoy. McAvoy’s buzzer beater goal was scored with one second remaining to give the Irish their 19-10 win.

The Irish will remain on the road for the final game of the regular season when they face Louisville. The match will be broadcast live on the ACC Network and live stats will be available.
