ALEXANDRIA, VA — Kiskadee, a women’s boutique located along Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray, will close in April.

Owner Celeste Crutchfield announced the closure Thursday in Alexandria Stylebook. The scheduled closing day is April 3, but the store could potentially reopen on April 18 to sell remaining items. The last day of the store lease is April 30.

Crutchfield explained the factors that led to the decision to close, from staffing and supply chain issues to wanting to spend more time with his daughters.

“With all of these contributing factors, I have made the decision to close,” Crutchfield wrote. “I want nothing more than to spend as much time as possible with my family this summer.”

This won’t be the end of Kiskadee, however. Crutchfield will look into pop-up shops and holiday shows, and Kiskadee’s online sales will remain active. Another physical store is also not ruled out for the future.

Kiskadee dates back to 2007. Originally founded by Darby Rush and Neil Hall, the business handed over to Crutchfield in 2017. The store offers a variety of apparel, accessories, home goods and home accessories. gift items for women.

“I want to thank all of our loyal customers for their support, especially over the past two years, Crutchfield wrote. “I also want to thank my employees, especially those who have stuck with me through it all. I appreciate you all.”
