Mailchimp announced a new partnership that allows users of its email marketing software to integrate directly with Shopify’s ecommerce platform.
New and existing users at both companies will now be able to connect their Mailchimp accounts to their Shopify storefront through direct integration that eliminates the need for third-party tools and manual data transfers.
Mailchimp’s vice president of applications market Joni Deus explained in a press release that this new direct integration will help drive business for customers of both companies ahead of the holiday shopping season of 2021, saying:
“Last year, Mailchimp customers generated 36% more orders from Thanksgiving to Giving Tuesday than in 2019, showing how important it is to have an online presence for commerce and retail . We’re excited to partner with Shopify again ahead of our customer’s busiest season to make it easier for merchants to reach their customers, sell more products, and be successful.
Direct integration
By directly connecting Mailchimp and Shopify, merchants will be able to combine the power of shopping and marketing data and use that information to drive conversions, increase revenue, and reach even more customers.
The two companies have decided to announce their new direct integration now so that their small business customers have enough time to connect the two platforms and make it one of their most profitable holiday sales seasons to date. .
Mailchimp also revealed that it acquired ShopSync whose app has been used by tens of thousands of its customers to connect their Mailchimp and Shopify accounts over the past two years. ShopSync’s work on its app has also enabled the email marketing company to bring its technology in-house and integrate it into its platform.
