The Northampton County District Attorney’s Office has released the identities of the men involved in Sunday’s shooting at Lower Nazareth Commons, off Highway 248 in Lower Nazareth Township.

The deceased man is Elijah Johnson, 20, the last known address is Canadensis, County Monroe. Northampton County Coroner Zach Lysek said he died of multiple gunshot wounds. The death was ruled a homicide.

Jayzell Avery Sanders, 22, of Mount Pocono, was transferred to hospital with gunshot wounds.

Sanders told Colonial Regional Police he was a passenger in the front seat of a black Buick Regal in the parking lot near Target. He said two men pulled up next to him in a white car. They got out and got into the backseat of the Buick.

Sanders got out of the car and started running towards the front of the store. The men started shooting and he fired back at them with his pistol. He said he put the gun under a car in the parking lot.

CCTV confirms Sanders crosses the parking lot and shoots back toward the Buick.

Police said Sanders did not have a license to carry a concealed weapon. He is accused of not having a license and recklessly endangering another person.

The police are still investigating. They ask anyone with information to call 610-861-4820.
