Actions of Shopify outperformed Zacks’ Internet service industry in the period since the start of the year (+ 35.9% vs. + 35.4%). Zacks analyst believes the company is benefiting from the growth driven by the e-commerce boom in the merchant base. Additionally, a slight increase in Shopify Shipping, Shopify Payments, and Shopify Capital drove revenue higher.

In addition, the solid adoption of new merchant-friendly applications is promising. In addition, partnerships with Facebook and Google are expected to broaden the merchant base. However, higher investments in product development and the fulfillment platform amid fierce competition in e-commerce are expected to limit margin expansion in the near term.

Lowe’s stocks have gained + 18.8% in the past six months against the Zacks Building Products – Retail industry gain of + 15.3%. Zacks analyst believes the company remains well positioned to capitalize demand in the home improvement market, supported by investments in technology, merchandise category and the strength of the Pro business.

In addition, its new complete home strategy which includes providing complete solutions for various types of home repair and improvement needs bodes well. Strategy is an extension of the company’s retail fundamentals approach. In addition, management is also committed to increasing its market share and driving the expansion of operating margin.

Actions of CVS Health have gained + 10.1% in the last three months against the gain of the Zacks Retail Pharmacies and Drug Stores industry of + 3.5%. The Zacks analyst is encouraged by the growing demand for PBMs and specialty pharmacies as well as the significant growth in retail.

Meanwhile, the consumer-centric digital strategy has become more relevant in today’s environment as people use technology more while staying indoors. In the first quarter, the company achieved higher levels of engagement across all digital assets. However, a weak cough, cold and flu season impacted growth in Pharmacy and Retail / LTC Services.
